‘All good things must end’: Hardik Pandya hints he may not return to MI
Team India all-rounder Hardik Pandya was on Wednesday released by the Mumbai Indians ahead of the mega auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League. Pandya made his IPL debut with MI in 2015 and had represented the franchise since, making his name as one of the most destructive all-rounders in world cricket.
However, the 2021 edition of the tournament has been rough for Pandya. The Baroda cricketer, due to the inability to bowl for a longer duration due to his injury, largely played as a batter in the side. His injury further significantly hampered his batting during the death overs, as he batted at a strike rate of only 113.39, scoring 127 runs in 12 appearances.
As Pandya was released from the Mumbai Indians, he posted an emotional video montage on his time at the franchise. Pandya is a four-time IPL champion with MI, winning the tournament in 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020.
“I’ll carry these memories with me for the rest of my life, I’ll carry these moments with me for the rest of my life ,” Pandya wrote as he shared the video.
